Thankfully, without any noticeable Canadian wildfire smog in the air, the Washington Square Music Festival successfully held its second summer park concert on the evening of Tues., June 13.
It was new conductor 25-year-old Ahmed Alom’s first time on the park’s main stage.
The previous Tuesday evening, though, the season’s debut had been touch and go amid the crazy haze, but baritone Kenneth Overton and the other performers had soldiered on.
As of two days ago, there were still 450 wildfires raging in Canada.
Meanwhile, the music festival has two more Tuesday evening concerts remaining in June. Both start at 8 p.m.
A magical night in Washington Square
