St. Mark’s Place artist artist Ian Dave Knife transformed a leftover tree stump into a beautiful work of street art. Roots became hair and colors found a new home as the wood inspired a timeless face.

Check it out on E. 11th St., east of First Ave., just past Bella Tile.
As the wood cures, colors change, and hopefully the city is slow to de-stump.

This is fantastic! One of the things that makes New York City so great. I just saw a tree stump , the artist saw something that he could do to make it beautiful. Thank you artist for doing that. We are lucky to have people like you
