Senior woman, 84, robbed at Union Square bank

Amid the coronavirus crisis, a cold-hearted thug robbed an octogenarian woman after she made an afternoon withdrawal at a Union Square bank.

Police said the 84-year-old victim was inside the Amalgamated Bank, at 10 E. 14th St., around 1:45 p.m., when the suspect approached her from behind and snatched $80 from her hand.

The ne’er-do-well then fled into the Union Square subway station.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was removed to Lenox Hill Hospital in stable condition.

Police released surveillance camera images and video of the alleged suspect.
