BY THE VILLAGE SUN | A man reportedly leaped to his death from the Manhattan Bridge on Sun., May 14, around 10 a.m.
He was said to have been spotted climbing over the bridge’s pedestrian path before landing on the southbound roadway of the F.D.R. Drive.
Police did not immediately release his identity.
A Grand Street resident who has a view of the river previously told The Village Sun that suicides off the East River bridges do happen sporadically. Police generally do not publicize the incidents, though, for fear of sparking copycat jumpers.
