BY THE VILLAGE SUN | A dispute in a Chinatown / Dimes Square social club turned deadly on Mon., April 4, when a man wound up fatally stabbed.
According to police, officers responded around 4:30 p.m. to a 911 call of two males fighting inside 125 Division St. Upon arrival, they found a 58-year-old man with a stab wound to his torso.
E.M.S. transported the victim in critical condition to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as Qi Rui Weng, of Elmhurst, Queens.
The building where the fight occurred is two stories tall and sports the name Pattern on its facade in small, dark, cursive lettering beneath a single circular window. There is also a sign for a taekwondo martial-arts school in the basement.
A police spokesperson said the incident occurred in a social club at the location. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
Although this spot is usually considered part of Chinatown, hipsters have recently dubbed it Dimes Square.
Isn’t this the same place where a woman was killed last year?
