Like people all over New York City and in cities across America, people in Harlem spontaneously broke out in celebration on Saturday afternoon moments after Joe Biden declared victory in the presidential election.
Biden’s running mate, California Senator Kamala Harris — who is of Jamaican and East Indian descent — is poised to become both the first female vice president and first V.P. of color in U.S. history.
President Trump, though, so far is refusing to concede and is filing legal challenges over election counts in battleground states.
