BY THE VILLAGE SUN | Police on Thursday afternoon provided more details about an East Village shooting one week ago that left two men wounded.
As The Village Sun previously reported, according to cops, on Thurs., Aug. 12, at 5:05 p.m., two men were shot in the leg in front of NYC Deli Market Corp., at 129 Avenue D, at the corner of E. Ninth St.
In new information, police said that the gunman opened fire as he drove a black BMW SUV. A 47-year-old victim was struck in the right upper thigh and a 29-year-old man took a bullet in his left upper thigh.
The shooter fled. The victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. There were no other reported injuries.
Cops also provided a description and photos of the suspect. He is said to be roughly in his 30s, with a medium build, a black ponytail and a beard, and last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue shorts with white stripes on the side, black sneakers and a yellow baseball cap worn backward.
Police released surveillance video and photos from the location.
