Police said they have closed a Manhattan burglary pattern by a suspect who targeted residential buildings from Greenwich Village and Soho to the East Village and Chelsea.
Cops arrested Mitchell Coward, 51, of 104th Street and Columbus Avenue on Thursday, tying him to at least seven burglaries.
In the first report incident, on Mon., Aug. 30, around 6:25 p.m., Coward allegedly broke into a residential building at 342 W. 21st St. by busting through a front door. He then removed several packages before fleeing on a Citi Bike.
In the second incident, on Wed., Sept. 1, about 2 a.m., the suspect allegedly entered a residential building at 161 Prince St., again, by breaking the front door. Once inside, he snatched several packages and fled.
Police said Coward was also charged with five additional burglaries in Soho, Greenwich Village and the East Village.
and now we have plywood instead of glass on the door to the street!
Citibikes seem more and more involved with Crime. In WSQ Park you see them lying round for hours or in action with deliveries in the DRUGGIE DEN. I assume they are stolen as they can be tracked if you pay to use.
