Police are looking for a man who they say went headhunting against a police officer in the Village on Sat., May 30.
Around 10:22 p.m., the suspect, all clad in black, was in front of 80 University Place, near E. 11th St., when he threw a brick, striking a 35-year-old male officer on the helmet, cops said.
The man then fled westbound on E. 11th St., then southbound on Fifth Ave.
The officer suffered a cut and swelling to his face. E.M.S. medics responded to the scene and transported him to an area hospital, where he was treated and subsequently released.
The suspect is described as having a light complexion, thin build and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black backpack, black pants and black sneakers.
Police released surveillance photos that they said were taken from before the incident.
