E-waste recycling in Meatpacking

You can send your e-waste packing at an e-recycling event in the Meatpacking District on Fri., May 5.

Bring your outmoded or unwanted computers, monitors, printers, mice, keyboards, DVD players (Betamax tape decks? Sony Walkmans?) and more to the southwest corner of 14th Street and Eighth Avenue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Working and nonworking items will be accepted.

F.Y.I.: Since it’s now illegal to discard electronics in the trash, you don’t need AI to tell you that you can save yourself a potential fine by using the e-waste drop-off.

The affair will be co-hosted by the Meatpacking District Initiative, the Lower East Side Ecology Center and Councilmember Erik Bottcher. The ecology center will be taking the items. The event will be held rain or shine.
