The vacant lot at Duarte Square, at Canal St. and Sixth Ave., at least for the moment, is no longer an Instagram theme park / open-air dining and drinking spot. Someday perhaps, the lot’s owner, Trinity Real Estate, will build the residential tower with a public school in its base that was pitched to the community years ago. For now, though, ’tis the season — the spot is a Christmas tree-selling operation once again.
