If ever there was a time for a repeat of a Mac McGill illustration, this is it. The East Village artist’s pen-and-ink drawing “Trump Is the Virus” first ran in The Village Sun back in May.
Now, Trump really is the virus!
Last night, it was reported that President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are both infected with COVID-19. A day earlier, Hope Hicks, a senior adviser to the president who traveled closely with him over the past week, had been diagnosed with coronavirus.
Hicks, who accompanied Trump in a helicopter, was frequently seen without a face mask in the period leading up to her diagnosis, according to news reports.
Following Trump’s positive diagnosis, Joe and Jill Biden tested negative.
Some think Trump actually may be cured quickly because the virus simply won’t be able to tolerate being inside of him.
This drawing by McGill is amazing!
The last line of this piece left me laughing!
Fake News? He skips the debates at the eleventh hour? The eternal corporate news goes on 24/7 Presidential Covid-19 watch, leaving Biden struggling for coverage (oxygen for a campaign)? Trump is “cured” in time for the election (with hydrochlorothiazide?)?
So many questions, such convenient timing.
If he truly has the virus, then I wish him a healthy recovery.
