New York City entered phase three of reopening on Mon., July 6 — but without indoor restaurant dining, as previously planned.
As for outdoor recreation, soccer fields, basketball, tennis and handball courts, plus dog runs have reopened.
According to a statement by the mayor, “Participants in higher-risk sports including basketball should only partake in individual or distanced group training. To support social distancing, ‘parks ambassadors’ will continue staffing parks and playgrounds, handing out masks and educating patrons about maintaining safe distancing.”
Some personal-care services have reopened, including spas, nail salons, masseuses, tattooing and piercing.
However, under state-issued guidelines, some services still are prohibited, including those where the customer would have to remove his or her mask, such as lip or nose piercing or facials, face massages or lip or nose waxing.
In addition, there are guidelines for maintaining social distancing and reducing customer time indoors.
One of them states, for example: “Tattoo and piercing parlors should consider posting designs online or in the window in order to minimize the amount of time that customers spend in the business, to the extent possible.”
