Woman’s wallet stolen at 14th Street Y

Police said that a woman’s wallet was snatched at the 14th Street Y on Thurs., Jan. 23.

It was around 1:30 p.m., inside the recreation center, at 344 E. 14th St., that the victim, 43, discovered her wallet was missing and contacted police.

An investigation determined that later that day around 5:09 p.m., an unidentified man was caught on surveillance camera inside the Rite-Aid at 81 First Ave., at E. Fifth St., unsuccessfully trying to make a purchase with the woman’s debit card.

Police released photos of the suspect taken at the Rite-Aid. He was last seen wearing a black cap and black hooded jacket, with a backpack.
