Teen girls busted for bashing woman for iPhone

Police arrested three teenage girls in the Jan. 19 bottle-bash robbery of a woman in Greenwich Village.

The incident occurred at 8 p.m. at W. 10th St. between Fifth and Sixth Aves. The trio are accused of approaching a 40-year-old woman from behind as she was walking and talking on her cell phone, and hitting her on the head with a glass bottle. After being struck, the victim fell into a flower box and the girls stole her iPhone 11-Pro from her hand, according to police.

Although the woman sustained a minor head injury, she refused medical attention at the scene.

The youngest girl, 14, was charged with assault, plus robbery, criminal possession of a weapon (the bottle) and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Her sidekicks, ages 15 and 16, were both charged with robbery.
