These posters near the M14 bus stop at W. 14th St. and Seventh Ave. made for some interesting reading for waiting straphangers, some of whom no doubt wondered if these statements were even true.
The messages are part of Jay-Z’s campaign for Monogram, the hip-hop mogul’s new cannabis line.
According to reports, the campaign was created by the agency Mischief@No Fixed Address. The signs feature photos of individuals who have faced weed-related charges, along with messages highlighting the “hypocrisy of America’s drug policy.”
The effort is currently running in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami and Washington, D.C., with more cities planned in coming weeks.
