BY THE VILLAGE SUN | Downtown punk-rock poet Patti Smith will perform at the Elizabeth Street Garden’s block party on Saturday.
Guitarist Lenny Kaye, her longtime bandmate, will also be there deejaying. Nikolai Fraiture, the bass player from the Strokes, will perform, as well, along with the Adam Amram Family Band and Acapella Soul, among others.
There will also be yoga, boxing lessons from Overthrow gym, kids activities raffles and more.
The block party runs from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and it’s free. The Little Italy garden runs between Elizabeth and Mott Streets on the block between Spring and Prince Streets.
The event is geared toward Climate Week and is hosted by Pathway to Paris.
