Native American art in Village show

Revelation Gallery is hosting an “Urban Native Artists” show, opening Tues., Dec. 1, and running through Wed., Dec. 30.

The exhibit features works by local Native American artists Nadema Agard (Cherokee/Lakota/Powhatan), Vernon Bigman (Diné), Athena LaTocha (Lakota/Ojibwe) and Mario Martinez (Yaqui).

Agard and Bigman are established artists while LaTocha and Martinez are abstract artists who are gaining increased notice.

The gallery, at 224 Waverly Place, at W. 11th St. next door to St. John’s in the Village Church, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Because of social-distancing requirements, visitors wishing to attend the opening should register beforehand by e-mailing to rector@stjvny.org. Aside from the opening, registration is not required to visit the gallery at other times. Masks are required.
