BY THE VILLAGE SUN | The walls could be starting to close in on Joe Biden’s campaign for president as four senior House Democrats, including Jerry Nadler, have reportedly joined the voices calling for him to drop out of the race.
Politico, The New York Times and other outlets all reported on a two-hour phone call Sunday that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries had with House Democrats to discuss concerns about Biden’s flagging campaign. Among those on the call, Nadler, Joe Morelle, Adam Smith and Mark Takano are all said to have stated they feel Biden should scuttle his reelection bid.
Rob Gottheim, Nadler’s district director, neither confirmed nor denied the news reports about his boss.
“His discussion was on a private call with other members,” he said. “We’re not commenting on private conversations.”
The news comes on the heels of five other House members publicly declaring that Biden should pull the plug on his campaign.
With more than 30 years in Congress, Nadler is the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee. In 2022 he beat fellow longtime incumbent Carolyn Maloney for the newly drawn District 12, covering much of Manhattan north of 14th Street.
Meanwhile, Van Jones, ex-President Obama’s former green jobs czar and current media personality, is also calling for Biden to throw in the towel. In a recent interview, he bluntly indicated that no one feels Biden, if elected, could even make it through another four-year term anyway.
“We’re running Kamala Harris for president right now,” Jones declared. “Nobody believes Joe Biden’s gonna be president in four years. … The reality is we are running Kamala Harris for president one way or another.”
Career politician calls on other career politician to stop running for office. Brilliant. I think that about sums up the buffoon that is Jerrold Nadler. Please remember this and vote this guy out of office.
Et tu, Nadler??…you old FART!
Democrats have no one to blame but themselves!
While Biden refuses to drop out of the 2024 race and the Democrats fight over him, Chicago is a total live-fire war zone and the delegates and the DNC are saying absolutely nothing about it. The Chicago mayor and police want a riot so they can clear the streets of pro-Palestinian protesters ASAP. The DNC in Chicago will be more violent than the ’68 DNC riot, and if you add the massive, out-of-control gun violence to the mix, do the Democrats seem to care or have a clue about how bad their convention will look and be?

Given your learned observations, what might be your learned solution?
Nadler proves himself to be the wussy I always suspected he was.
Why haven’t we heard a word from Chuck Schumer?
Nadler did not distinguish himself while chairing Trump’s impeachment.
He might consider going gracefully himself.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Diane Feinstein and Supreme Court manipulator Mitch McConnell all had or have one foot in the grave and still persist and resist retiring. There needs to be a retirement age — a cognitive test or a mechanism to keep democracy vital (term limits?). The well-funded Heritage Foundation has been tenacious in constructing the Roberts Supreme Court. The Trump appointees could remain installed for decades, making and ignoring their own ethics parameters, pursuing an agenda, acting in ways they stated they would not.
Democrats need to up their game and be at least as calculating and tenacious to maintain parity and sanity.
Democrats notoriously eat their own to the detriment of the country and their party. Think Al Franken!
Let Joe Biden beat Trump and worry about a second term later, when he will be surrounded by solid-law abiding cabinet secretaries, staff and other administration officials that will ensure continuity if the need arises; the antithesis of what we can expect from a Trump presidency.
The man deserves respect and the alleged learned pundits and politicians should take lessons from him instead of helping to sink his ship.
There is far more at stake here than the careers and notoriety of those that think they are so smart and want to be right; with purely self-interest as their motivation.
P.S.: 30 years in the House and what is Nadler’s claim to fame other than longevity and making the House a career rather than a public service? He desperately wants the limelight and threw Maloney under the bus by running against her in her district in order to keep his seat at the table; a despicable act by one Democrat against another, which he is now repeating against Biden. If he is so smart to advise the country, why has he sat on his ass in that seat for 30 years and what does the voting public have to show for it? Nada!!!
