March against resiliency mega-project

East River Park advocates will march at noon on Sunday against the city’s East Side Coastal Resiliency project.

Opponents are up in arms that the $1.45 billion plan would put parts of East River Park off limits for five years during the construction, and warn that the work could well extend for years beyond that.

They support a previous, simpler plan to build berms and floodwalls in the park, which would not be raised above the 100-year floodplain, unlike in the current E.S.C.R. plan.
