Jesse Malin benefit concert to rock Irving Plaza

A benefit concert for East Village punk legend Jesse Malin is set to blast the roof off Irving Plaza on Fri., April 26.

On the bill are Gogol Bordello, Madball, Murphy’s Law and more. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The show was previously planned for Tompkins Square Park but has been moved to the indoor venue, at 17 Irving Place, at 15th Street.

Malin led the band D Generation and owns Niagara bar and Bowery Electric, both in the East Village. He is still recovering from a devastating spinal stroke he suffered last year that left him paralyzed from the waist down.

Proceeds will go toward helping pay for Malin’s ongoing rehabilitative care.
