Man viciously slashed in face in front of IFC Center

BY THE VILLAGE SUN | Police said that on Mon., June 6, at 2:20 a.m., an unknown man approached a 37-year-old male victim in front of the IFC Center cinema, at 323 Sixth Ave., at W. Third Street, and slashed him on the left side of his face.

The suspect then fled on foot northbound up Sixth Avenue.

The victim was removed to Lennox Hill Hospital, where he received 60 stiches to the left side of his face.

The alleged suspect wore an Armani Exchange top with a large “A | X” logo on the front, a dark-colored do-rag on his head and sneakers.

Police did not provide any additional details, in terms of whether the two men might have known each other or what, if anything, sparked the incident.
