On Tuesday, at the 7 p.m. clap outside New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, across from Southbridge Towers and near the Brooklyn Bridge, area residents, firefighters and E.M.S. medics applauded the hospital’s doctors, nurses and other staffers.
