A colossal sculpture by Steal Neal was on view in Astor Place on Sunday.
The heavy metal artwork bore a heavy title: “The Agony of Man.”
It was not immediately clear if this was a guerilla art display or one organized by the local Village Alliance business improvement district, which generally manages what goes on on the Astor Place sidewalk plaza areas. But maybe “The Agony of Man” cannot be constrained by such things.
