Golden Rat Bazaar to offer art, feng shui, dumpling making and more

The year 2020 is the Year of the Golden Rat — an especially auspicious occasion, since it kicks off the 60-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac.

To mark the occasion, the group Wall Street Chinese will be holding a special Golden Rat Bazaar pop-up in FiDi / Tribeca from Dec. 22 to Jan. 5, daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

East will meet West, the event’s organizers say, at this event, which will celebrate the lunar new year with a unique mix of cultural offerings.

There will be an art bazaar where you can find calligraphy scrolls for good luck, learn about your Chinese zodiac sign, and maybe even glimpse your fortune while enjoying a cup of tea.

There will be zodiac arts and crafts, dumpling making, qigong energy and tea workshops. You can get a personal Chinese feng shui reading, too. You can also do kung fu, paper-cut art, art healing, plasticine sculpture and erhu (Chinese spike fiddle).

Dec. 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., will focus on games.

Art, cultural and wellness workshops will be held from Dec. 28 to Jan. 4. Entry to the event is free.

Workshops will cost $30.

The bazaar won’t be open on Christmas Day.

The event will be held at 72 Warren St. For more information contact info@wallstreetchinese.net or call 646-853-3872.
