No, these are not photos of 1980s Alphabet City from the current “Beauty Mark: Clayton Patterson” exhibit at Printed Matter / St. Mark’s.
They’re for the TV series “Russian Doll,” which has been shooting in the neighborhood. Fliers posted on lampposts announcing the shoot call it “Black Gumball.”
Locals were not impressed.
