Last year COVID canceled Comic Con — WHAM! POW! — at least the in-person version. And the virtual edition that was offered wasn’t very satisfying for the costumed crowd.
But the annual “comic book convention” will be back this year at the Javits Center, from Thurs., Oct. 7, to Sun., Oct. 10.
In addition to panels and plenty of cosplay, as usual, there will be film and TV idols on hand to meet and sign autographs, like “Star Trek” legends William Shatner (Captain Kirk) and George Takei (Sulu), as well as comic book artists, like Afua Richardson (“Black Panther: World of Wakanda,” “Lovecraft Country”), and comic book writers, like Amy Chu (“Poison Ivy,” “Wonder Woman”).
