Basement burglary on Christopher St.

A burglar wearing a mask — not to conceal his identity but to protect against coronavirus — stole tools from a Village basement on Sun., March 23, police said.

Just before 4 a.m., the suspect — who also wore latex gloves — entered the basement of a residential building at 89 Christopher St., after gaining access through a sidewalk hatch door.

Once inside, he removed multiple power tools before exiting and fleeing in an unknown direction.

The thief also wore a baseball cap.
