Police said two men got into a verbal dispute at E. 11th St. and Avenue A on Tuesday night last week and one came out the worse for wear, with his face slashed.
According to cops, on July 27 around 10:20 p.m., the 46-year-old victim was arguing with a stranger in front of 500 E. 11 St., just east of Avenue A. As things turned physical, the attacker brandished a knife and proceeded to slash the victim in the face.
The assailant fled on foot, eastbound on E. 11th St. The victim was transported by private means to Mt. Sinai Beth Israel in stable condition.
The suspect is described as roughly age 35 to 40, around 5 feet 6 inches tall and 170 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black and white shirt, camouflage shorts, black boots and carrying a black backpack.
Police released photos of the alleged suspect.
