BY THE VILLAGE SUN | Robert Lederman, the president of Artists’ Response to Illegal State Tactics, or A.R.T.I.S.T., is known for fighting for the rights of street artist vendors.
He’s also one of the few people who actually seems to understand Washington Square Park’s vending rules.
Speaking of parks, Lederman deeply loathes the annual holiday markets that co-opt public space and displace artist vendors, like the one in Union Square.
And yet…he has a soft spot for Santa.
Here are some of Lederman’s watercolor paintings of St. Nick that he shared with The Village Sun. He originally did them for a Christmas card company.
