BY THE VILLAGE SUN | In the latest smoke shop robbery, police said armed CBD bandits held up a place in broad daylight on a busy main strip of the East Village on Wed., May 10.
According to a police report, around 2:30 p.m., three individuals entered La Convenience smoke shop, at 105 Avenue A, at E. Seventh Street. Two of them went behind the counter and started removing merchandise while the third guy acted as a lookout.
As the perps exited the store, they were confronted by a 42-year-old male bystander — but he backed down after one of them flashed a handgun at him. The crooks then hopped into a gray Hyundai four-door sedan, heading southbound down Avenue A.
According to a police spokesperson, 140 packages of CBD were stolen, with a total value of $900.
There were no injuries reported during the incident.
