Police said that on Sun., May 8, just after 9 p.m. a man fired one gunshot from a handgun at the corner of Rivington Street and the Bowery. He then fled on foot eastbound on Rivington Street.
There were no injuries or property damage reported.
Police did not say why the man fired the gun. He is being sought on a charge of criminal mischief.
A video released by police shows the man dismounting from a Citibike, then later blasting the shot into the air. Surveillance photos of the alleged suspect show him wearing a hooded, black “puffer” jacket, black pants, brown boots and a black baseball cap with “Brooklyn” in white letters on the front.
