In another random attack on a female pedestrian, police said an 18-year-old was walking on Eighth St. earlier this month when a man hit her with a hard object, then grabbed her by the throat.
The incident occurred Mon., March 1, around 12:30 p.m., between Mercer and Greene Sts.
The victim and the attacker did not exchange any words at any time, according to cops. Afterward, the suspect fled on foot.
The victim suffered pain and bruising. E.M.S. responded but she refused medical attention at the scene.
The suspect is reportedly between 30 to 40 years old. Police released surveillance photos showing the alleged attacker taken near the incident location, after the incident.
