Finding a sweet spot amid the heat

A young Greenwich Villager showed some hot entrepreneurship amid the broiling July temperatures.

Dave Esterwood, 12, set up a lemonade stand by the oak grove at Silver Towers, braving the heat, humidity, and horrid air quality on Monday to score bucks toward a 2025 Club World Cup ticket. In contrast to the better-known World Cup — which will see teams from 48 countries compete in 2026 — the Club World Cup features seven teams representing the seven continents.

Meanwhile, nearby, after sundown on Monday, Karin Kiontke, secretary of the prizewinning LaGuardia Corner Gardens, treated parched plant life to a welcome watering.
