Woman, 35, groped while walking home in Greenwich Village

BY THE VILLAGE SUN | A 35-year-old woman told police she was followed and groped by man while she was walking home in Greenwich Village.

According to police, on Sat., Dec. 9, a few minutes past midnight, the victim reported that she was walking at E. 10th Street and University Place, when a stranger who was following her grabbed her groin over her clothing.

Trying to get away from the assailant, the woman tripped and fell, cutting her knees. She refused medical attention at the scene.

According to the Manhattan Special Victims Squad, the suspect is described as a white male, around 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds. He wore a gray, hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants with black sneakers.
