On the evening of Thurs., Nov. 21, the Village Independent Democrats club will be hosting a forum about combating gun violence.
Titled “Because Thoughts and Prayers Aren’t Enough: How You Can Help End Gun Violence in NYC,” the forum will be a discussion on concrete actions that one can take to help reduce gun violence right in the Big Apple.
The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Lenox Health Greenwich Village, 200 W. 13th St., sixth-floor conference room.
Panelists will include Rebecca Fisher, director of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence; Nick Smith, deputy public advocate of New York City; Shaina Harrison director of education, New Yorkers Against Gun Violence; Dr. Rob Gore, emergency physician and founder of Kings Against Violence Initiative; and Jeremy Arse, crisis mediator at Man Up.
The event is free and RSVP is encouraged.
