Two Downtown political clubs are pitching in to ensure that local organizations have the right protective gear during the pandemic.
David Siffert, president of the Village Independent Democrats, recently dropped off a donation of PPE at the Church of the Village, at Seventh Ave. at 13th St.
The contribution is part of a partnership of V.I.D. and Downtown Independent Democrats to provide personal protection equipment to organizations in Lower Manhattan.
V.I.D. has previously donated to the Church of the Village’s food program, whose 75 volunteers provide 1,200 meals a week, not just to residents of the Village, but to people in the other boroughs and some who drive in from as far away as Pennsylvania.
