Two men shot in LaGuardia Houses

Two men were wounded by gunfire in the LaGuardia Houses early on the morning of Thurs., July 16, police said.

Just before 1 a.m., a man fired several rounds from a gun near 65 Jefferson St. in the Lower East Side public-housing complex. A 21-year-old man was struck once in the foot and a 20-year-old victim was hit once in his buttocks.

The first individual was transported to Bellevue Hospital by E.M.S. in stable condition. The second victim was taken by private means to Harlem Hospital, also in stable condition.

The suspected shooter is described as an adult male, with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a black sweater with a white stripe on the left arm and blue jeans.

Police released photos from New York City Housing Authority video surveillance taken after the incident took place.
