Senior randomly assaulted in East Village

Police said that on Wed., Feb. 26, around 10:30 a.m., a 73-year-old man was at the corner of Second Ave. and E. 10th St. when a stranger walked up and punched and kicked him in the face.

The victim suffered a cut to his lip and head.

The suspect fled on foot. He is described as around age 30, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, and last seen wearing a red-and-gray shirt, a black jacket, black pants and a black hat.

Police obtained surveillance-camera photos of the suspect.
