Rape attempt in W. 14th St. subway station

BY THE VILLAGE SUN | A man tried to rape a woman on the subway platform at 14th Street and Seventh Avenue one night last month, according to police.

Cops said that on Fri., Jan. 14, around 11:30 p.m. the suspect approached a 45-year-old female straphanger at the 1/2/3 station.

He proceeded to punch the victim in the arm, throw her to the floor and try to rape her. When other passengers intervened, the woman fled onto a northbound train. She refused medical attention.

Police released a sketch of the alleged suspect.
