BY THE VILLAGE SUN | Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg today announced the indictment of Hassan Victoria, 45, for attacking three men within roughly 10 minutes with a pair of scissors in the West Village in a series of unprovoked attacks — including stabbing a middle-aged man in the neck and drawing blood at Abingdon Square.
Victoria, who lives in Queens, was charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment with three counts each of attempted assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, among other charges.
“As alleged, Hasson Victoria lunged at three different men with a pair of scissors over the span of minutes — all during the morning rush hour — on public streets,” Bragg said. “I want New Yorkers to know that we treat these violent attacks with the seriousness they deserve.”
According to court documents and statements made on the record, on July 27, around 9:20 a.m., Victoria tried to stab a 28-year-old man with a pair of scissors near Hudson and Charlton Streets. About five minutes later, Victoria had walked a few blocks away, where he lunged at a 24-year-old man with the same pair of scissors multiple times, aiming at his chest. The victim was struck twice in his right arm, causing bleeding. Victoria then walked toward Bleecker Street and Eighth Avenue, where he used the scissors to stab a 45-year-old man in the neck, causing bleeding.
Victoria was arrested a few minutes later at W. 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue. Officers reportedly recovered the scissors from his waistband.
D.A. Bragg thanked the New York Police Department, especially the 6th Precinct, 6th Precinct Detective Squad, Transit Division Districts 1 and 2, Transit Borough Manhattan Task Force and the Midtown South Precinct.
Is he at least in jail?
Assault is all he’s charged with what a joke . Should be attempted murder .
