Take a walk on the wild side at the Two Bridges Luncheonette at the Lou Reed Birthday Tribute on Sat., March 2.
More than two dozen musicians will perform Lou Reed songs at Downtown’s newest music venue, at 135 Division St., at the free show, from 7 p.m. to midnight.
The luncheonette opened last fall in Dimes Square. It’s the latest offering from Trigger, the former operator of the Continental in the East Village, which he ran for years as a live music venue and later as a cheap-shots dive bar. Returning to his roots, in January he added unamplified music to the Division Street menu, dubbing the shows Live at the Luncheonette.
“I’m honored that Gary Hood is having his Annual Lou Reed Birthday Tribute at The Luncheonette,” Trigger said. “Everybody we asked to do a song or two didn’t hesitate. We’ve got an incredible lineup and I hope we do justice to Lou and his great music.
Lou Reed…one in a million.”
