Holy smokes! Rifle-wielding robbers hold up L.E.S. smoke shop

Two hoods pulled not just a gunpoint robbery at a Lower East smoke shop Monday afternoon but a rifle-point robbery.

Police said that around 4:25 p.m. two unidentified males entered N&N Delancey Smoke Shop, at 61 Delancey St., at Allen St. One of them stood at the counter and asked for cigarettes as the other went to the counter’s entrance while pointing a black rifle at the employee.

The man with the assault weapon verbally threatened the worker and demanded merchandise and cash from the register.

The counterman complied and the two perps fled in a vehicle parked in front of the location with $3,500, 30 packs of cigarettes, Lotto tickets and a cell phone.
