He grabbed my hijab, woman says

BY THE VILLAGE SUN | Police are trying to track down a man who allegedly swiped a woman’s hijab off of her head in East Midtown.

Cops said that a 17-year-old woman was walking westbound on E. 44th Street toward Second Avenue around noon on Sun., April 28, when a stranger approached her and removed her headscarf.

The man allegedly began to yell, “You don’t need to be wearing that here!”

He then fled on foot northbound on Second Avenue. There were no injuries reported.

Police are seeking the suspect on a charge of aggravated harassment.
