A man burglarized the closed Grab & Go store, at 388 Sixth Ave., on Tues., May 5, around 5 p.m., police said.
The suspect entered the place — known for its buy-one-get-one-free sushi — between W. Eighth St. and Waverly Place, through a secured front door.
Once inside, he removed $1,500 and store merchandise before fleeing.
Terri Howell, operations director for the Village Alliance business improvement district, said she was aware of the Grab & Go break-in, noting, “they came in through the side door.”
In addition, she said, on Wednesday morning, the Village Bazaar smoke shop, at 351 Sixth Ave., near W. Fourth St., was also burglarized and the thieves reportedly got “quite a haul of cigarettes.”
