Gun buyback in East Village offers cash, iPads — no questions asked

BY THE VILLAGE SUN | The Manhattan district attorney and New York Police Department are hosting a gun buyback in the East Village on Sat., Dec. 3.

The event started at 10 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. at Gethsemane Garden Baptist Church, at 223 E. Seventh St., between Avenues B and C.

Participants can receive a $200 bank card and an iPad for handguns or assault rifles, and a $25 bank card for rifles, shotguns or airguns. Only one iPad will be given out per person, subject to availability, on a first-come, first-served basis.

A person can surrender as many guns as he or she likes, but payment will only be made for up to three guns, with a maximum payment of $600.

Guns must be brought in a plastic or paper bag or box.

Manhattan D.A. Bragg will be on hand for a media availability after the event.

    How many criminals or others with illegal guns read The Village Sun? This is a joke. In the future you should get paid for running ads like this, which amount to a propaganda campaign for an unpopular DA.
