Enjoy a free jazz performance — as in, classic jazz that is free of charge, not avant-garde jazz— by the Virginia Mayhew Ensemble at Jefferson Market Garden this weekend on Sun., Aug. 6, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A tenor saxophonist who has played horn with the greats, Mayhew is also the founder of the Greenwich House Music School Jazz Workshop.
Mark your calendar for another concert in the garden on Sun., Aug. 20, when the Ron Wasserman Project will play from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Jefferson Market Garden is located at 10 Greenwich Ave., between Sixth Avenue and W. 10th Street.
