Fashion Week returns in reality but with fantasy mixed in, too

BY THE VILLAGE SUN | Fashion Week got back to keeping it real.

Last year, the annual extravaganza was mostly virtual. But this time around, designers flaunted their latest fabulous collections once again at in-person events during the sartorial blowout from Sept. 9 to Sept. 14.

Although the runways were hopping all around the city, the main venue was in Tribeca at Spring Studios, at 50 Varick St.

Along with strutting models, designers, assorted fashion-industry types and selfie-snapping influencers, fashionistas of all stripes were out in force.

A new twist was “cosplay couture,” with models dressed as everything from manga characters to Spider-Girl.
