Enter the dragon: Lunar New Year parade roars into Chinatown

The Year of the Dragon roared into Chinatown on Sun., Feb. 25, with the annual Lunar New Year Parade. In addition to dragons and confetti, there were politicians aplenty, including Governor Hochul, Senator Schumer and local officials. Chinese communities around the globe kicked off Lunar New Year festivities on Feb. 10. The 15-day “spring festival” is the year’s most important holiday for Chinese people and many other Asian communities.
