E-bike swiped in East Village

A pair of thugs stole a deliveryman’s e-bike in the East Village on Wed., April 1, police said.

Around 1:30 a.m., the 47-year-old victim was trying to leave work, unlocking his electric bicycle at the corner of E. Fourth St. and First Ave., when he was knocked to the ground by the two individuals.

The duo punched him in the face and body, then stole his ride. One guy fled on the victim’s e-bike heading northbound on First Ave. while the other ran off westbound on E. Fourth St.

The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.

Police provided a surveillance-camera photo and video footage of one of the alleged suspects.
